L'Adour flows sometimes through dense woods, sometimes through large cornfields. Pebble beaches are very common and make it easy to land.

The river bed is sometimes invaded by seagrass (water buttercups), which are not very disruptive to navigation. They are very attractive with their countless white flowers.
